Hello, I'm Luís
I'm a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Lisbon, Portugal.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually opened a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Portugal wasn't in the plans for the long run. As with many expatriate relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complex than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of hands-on learning. Yet gradually, routines took shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built Pine Shadow Arc
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation advice or superficial travel content. What was lacking was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real-life experiences in Portugal.
What This Site Does (And Does Not)
This site is:
- Hands-on insights from living in Portugal
- Centered on family life and daily real-world aspects
- Updated only when there's a real change
This site isn't:
- A resource for tourism authorities
- Sponsored review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our stay in Portugal goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll continue recording what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Lisbon or anywhere in Portugal, don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Luís
